GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF UTTARAKHAND

 Uttarakhand is situated in India’s northern region. It is one of the twenty-eight states of India. It is the eighteenth largest Indian state by land and the nineteenth populous state in India. It shares borders with Uttar Pradesh to the southHimachal Pradesh to the northwest, Haryana to the west. It also shares international borders with Nepal to the east and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north.

Dehradun is the winter capital of the state and Gairsain the summer capital of the state.

Agriculture is one of the most significant sectors of the economy of Uttarakhand like other states. Wheat, soybeans, groundnuts, Basmati rice, pulses and oilseeds are the most widely grown crops.

Uttarakhand has huge potential in the tourism industry due to its location in the Himalayas. There are so many ancient temples, forest reserves, national parks, hill stations that attract a large number of tourists. The state has 12 National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries, which are located at different altitudes of the land in the state.

The famous hill stations in the state are Almora, Nainital, Dehradun, Mussoorie etc.

At present, Pushkar Singh Dhami is the Chief Minister of the state.
