GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF RAJASTHAN

Rajasthan is situated in India’s northwestern region. It is one of the twenty-eight states of India. It is the largest Indian state by land and the seventh most populous state in India. It shares borders with Punjab to the northHaryana and Uttar Pradesh to the northeastMadhya Pradesh to the southeastGujarat to the southwest. It also shares an international border with Pakistan to the west.

In Rajasthαn, there are three national tiger reserves, the Ranthambore National Park in Sawai MadhopurSariska Tiger Reserve in Alwar and Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve in KotaJaipur is the capital city of the state. Rajasthani handicrafts are famous all over the world. Rajasthan has huge potential in the tourism industry. There are many places to visit for tourists such as Mount Abu, Sariska Tiger Sanctuary, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and many more places. The major rivers are Chambal, Bayas and Luni in the state.

At present, Ashok Gehlot is the Chief Minister of the state.
